Welcome, John Bannister!

Welcome to John Bannister, our newest addition to the trackingThis team. His previous roles at the Southbank Centre, White Light and the University of Surrey have given him the ideal insight and experience for the job.

John Bannister, a theatre specialist with experience in warehouse maintenance, hire, preparation and live event staging, has joined the trackingThis team as a configuration engineer.

Having studied mathematics and obtained a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Surrey, Bannister has a track record of using programming and technology as tools for solving problems within the cultural and theatre sectors.

His previous roles at the Southbank Centre, White Light Ltd and the University of Surrey have given him the ideal experience for the job.

To further improve usability, we are now recruiting pilot partners - organisations who are willing to work with us to develop our products. In return, we give you our system free for a year.

“I started doing theatre production work at university. Simultaneously, I carried out some freelance corporate events jobs. During my time working for White Light, I established the demonstration technician role, handling and demonstrating the latest entertainment lighting equipment for the sales department."

At the Southbank Centre, John was as a production support technician. “Whilst working at the Southbank I met Chris Paul from trackingThis. The Centre was trialing trackingThis solutions and I started implementing and providing feedback on the work the company was doing there. The products that trackingThis has developed for the events industry are truly innovative and problem-solving. This is why when the chance arose, I didn’t hesitate to join the company.”

John comments, “My main frustration when working with equipment and databases has been the complete divide between the physical world and the data. QR codes can provide a simple shortcut to the wealth of information available on a physical object. TrackingThis products allow users to get information about objects at the point-of-use. When you are in the middle of a job, you have to get hands-on with the equipment. An asset management system should encourage and enable the project to run smoothly, not make it more difficult. This is where trackingThis solutions are ideal for this market.

Chris Paul, trackingThis CEO says, “Having a bright and enthusiastic person like John joining our team will allow us to reach further and give our clients tailored solutions.”

trackingThis has created the most comprehensive integrated asset management system on the market today. Using its software coupled with QR codes, trackingThis’ solutions provide individual online profiles for objects. Once an object has a trackingThis ID, the history of this object can be searched easily, located and managed from one online platform – within seconds. Each object profile can carry a variety of information and file types, including user manuals, inspections and service history.

John will be working on trackingThis Enterprise and with trackingThis Professional users. “My job at trackingThis will consist of working with the customers that want to implement the trackingThis asset management system, making sure transition process run as smooth as possible. I will also ensure that they can get the greatest advantages of the product on a day-to-day use,” concludes Bannister.

John would love to hear from you!
